Funding for working families


For children aged 9 months to 4 years


Up to 30 hours funding is available for eligible working families in England with a child between 9 months and 4 years old:

  • Each parent must earn at least the equivalent of 16 hours/week at national minimum wage but under £100,000 adjusted net income per year
  • Your child must be between 9 months and 4 years old
  • 30 hours of childcare or early education is for 38 weeks
  • It is a total of 1,140 hours per year, that you can use flexibly with one or more childcare providers
