Beckmead Family of Schools

The Beckmead Family of Schools is a group of specialist schools and provisions in Croydon that support children and young people aged 5 to 19 who have social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD, or other complex learning or behavioural needs.

The schools provide a safe, nurturing and structured environment where pupils are supported to build confidence, develop life skills and succeed in their learning - at a pace and in a way that works for them.

Who is Beckmead for?

Beckmead supports pupils who:

  • Have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • May find it difficult to cope in a mainstream school.
  • Have needs such as SEMH, autism, ADHD, or challenging behaviour.
  • May have experienced trauma, exclusion, or difficulties with learning or relationships.

The trust offers support through a range of schools and settings, tailored to meet the needs of each pupil.

Schools within The Beckmead Family

The trust includes several provisions, such as:

  • Beckmead Park Academy

  • Beckmead College - for older pupils preparing for adulthood.
  • Bramley Bank and Tharreo House - for pupils with additional SEMH needs.
  • Other local and national outreach services

Each setting offers personalised support, small class sizes, and a focus on helping children and young people feel safe, respected, and understood.

What do they offer?

The Beckmead Family of Schools provides:

  • A broad, therapeutic and creative curriculum.
  • A focus on emotional wellbeing, behaviour support, and building positive relationships.
  • Tailored learning plans to support each child’s development.
