Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

What You Need To Know

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is money to help with the extra costs of having a long-term health condition or disability.

It is designed to support you if you need help with everyday tasks or getting around because of your condition.

Who can get PIP?

You may be able to get PIP if you:

  • Are 16 or older.
  • Have a long-term physical or mental health condition or disability.
  • Need help with daily activities (like washing, dressing, or cooking) or moving around.

How It Works

PIP is not based on your income or savings – you can still work and get PIP.

There are two parts to PIP:

  1. Daily Living - if you need help with everyday tasks.
  2. Mobility - if you need help getting around.

You may get one or both parts, depending on how your condition affects you.
