Under 1s - funding for working families


From September 2024


Up to 15 hours funding is available for eligible working families in England with a child between 9 and 23 months old:

  • Each parent must earn at least the equivalent of 16 hours/week at national minimum wage but under £100,000 adjusted net income per year
  • Your child must be between 9 and 23 months old
  • 15 hours of childcare or early education is for 38 weeks
  • It is a total of 570 hours per year, that you can use flexibly with one or more childcare providers

September 2025


From September 2025



Up to 30 hours funding will be available for eligible working families in England with a child from 9 months old up to school age:

  • Each parent must be earning at least the equivalent of 16 hours/week at national minimum wage but under £100,000 adjusted net income/year
  • Your child must be between 9 months and 4 years old
  • 30 hours of childcare or early education is for 38 weeks
  • It is a total of 1,140 hours per year, that you can use flexibly with one or more childcare providers
