Post 16 Education and Training Options

You should stay in some kind of education or training until you are 18. Some people who have an EHC Plan stay in education until they are 25 if that is right for them.

Options include:

  • Staying at your mainstream or special school sixth form or moving to a different one.
  • Going to college - a wide variety of courses are available from pre-entry through to degree-level training, including academic, technical, vocational and life skills courses. The course you choose will depend on your interests, support needs and career aspirations. The further education colleges in Croydon areĀ Croydon College including Coulsdon College and John Ruskin College.
  • A supported internship.
  • An apprenticeship.
  • Voluntary or paid work part time alongside part-time study.
